Freight factoring for trucking companies: get paid for the load now, not in 60 days.
Fuel, payroll and truck payments are due this week. Brokers and shippers pay in 30, 60 or even 90 days. Freight factoring turns delivered loads into cash: 1st Commercial Credit funds 100% of the load minus the fee, with no reserve, and takes the loss if a broker can't pay because it became insolvent.

Why trucking companies run short of cash
- Fuel is one of the largest costs, and prices move faster than contracts.
- Maintenance, repairs and tires can't wait for a broker to pay.
- Truck and trailer payments or leases are due every month.
- Payroll, insurance, permits and taxes keep coming while loads sit unpaid.
A fleet can be busy and still be short of cash, because every completed load is money you won't see for weeks. When that happens, carriers start turning down loads or reach for a merchant cash advance, which is an expensive way to cover the gap. Factoring is not a loan: you sell the invoice for a load you already delivered, so there's no new debt to pay back.
How freight factoring works

- Express account setup in 24 hours.

1st Commercial Credit monitors the credit of the brokers it finances. If a broker fails to pay because it became insolvent, the loss is 1st Commercial Credit's, not yours.
That's the case it covers. Before you sign with any factoring company, ask what happens in every other case, like a disputed load, and get the answer in writing.

When freight factoring is not the answer
- Your brokers and shippers pay on delivery or in under 15 days.
- The load isn't finished or the paperwork is incomplete. Factoring funds completed loads.
- Your receivables are pledged to a bank line of credit. Second position works behind a bank term loan, not behind a line of credit.
- The problem is margin, not timing. If a lane loses money, getting paid faster only loses it faster.
Questions carriers ask me
Is freight factoring a loan?
No. You sell the invoice for a completed load. There's nothing to pay back and no new debt on your books.
How fast can I get the first funding?
The express setup takes 24 hours, and initial funding arrives within 24 hours. Same-day funding is available.
Can I get money for fuel before the load is paid?
Yes. 1st Commercial Credit offers fuel advances of up to 50% of the load value.
I already have an SBA loan. Can I still factor?
Often, yes. If your loan is a term loan, factoring can work in second position behind it. That's how the $350K Texas fleet deal was done.
Who do you haul for?
Tell me which brokers or shippers you work with and how long they take to pay. I'll tell you if factoring makes sense for your fleet.
